Title: Electromechanical Relays Contact Resistance measurment by Panasonic
Post by: Kiriakos GR on September 19, 2024, 08:30:46 PM
In my attempt to discover best in class electromechanical relays with lowest contact resistance, I did discover a Panasonic article, about how to measure contact resistance with out high end measuring tools.

https://na.industrial.panasonic.com/blog/how-measure-relay-contact-resistance (https://na.industrial.panasonic.com/blog/how-measure-relay-contact-resistance)

The second information of high importance: Most of Panasonic's electromechanical Relays have a specified contact resistance value of 100 mOhms (Max).

And therefore we are now aware of Max Contact Resistance Limit, which this classify electromechanical relays health status as good as new.

Another interesting find, OMRON Corporation also using this testing process.
Measurement conditions: 5 VDC, 1 A, voltage-drop method.

G2R Series, 1-pole 30 mOhm, 2-pole 50 mOhm.
