Title: Weicon No.5 Automatic Wire Stripper still the No1 choice for small cables?
Post by: Kiriakos GR on March 01, 2025, 02:31:31 PM
I am starting a new research at the sector of Automatic Wire Stripper.
Weicon No.5 this is approximately 20 years in the market.

The problem, was and is product pricing.
Weicon No.5
KNIPEX
And even Low End Chinese wire strippers.
All are priced at unjustified and or unreasonably levels.

I did discover Weicon No.5 this marketed by another German brand in Greece, at 21.50 Euro with VAT, that is 12.50 Euro lower than Weicon German pricing policy (34 EUR in Greece).

--------------------------------------------------------------------
Today I did touch this Weicon No.5 at local store electrical supplies, I did feel immediately that is a tool with less than five Euro manufacturing cost.
This is tiny in dimensions tool, while all stock photographs over the internet they do present it as larger than what it is.

KNIPEX this got in the game of selling spare blades for some of their product codes.
A pair of plastic jaws with two blades for 20 Euros?
Pricing of their plastic Automatic Wire Stripper 50~100 Euro?

Nothing makes sense, so far.
