Title: History facts METRAWATT AG NÜRNBERG 1967 - METRAVO 2 & METRAVO 3 Press release

Random find, lucky find?  :)

Attached advertisement of METRAWATT AG, within a German electronics magazine of 1967.
This story is about these analog multimeter, models METRAVO 2  and METRAVO 3.

METRAWATT AG, this appears to be the first formation of the company, prior this engaging and or changing corporate logo over the products after the year 1967.

Metrawatt won design award about METRAVO 4 at 1975.

As owner of BBC (Brown Boveri) GOERZ Metrawatt MA 4S (Year 1986) and by discovering it brother model METRAVO 4S, I have now a personal interest so to explore more such historical data.

According to my understanding so far, Metrawatt marketing this started separating products over the years, by classify them by single digit, but even so in the beginning these come in pairs (first revision).

METRAVO 2 for electronics engineers (1967)
METRAVO 3 for electricians (1967)

Next revision METRAVO 4S this shown approximately 16 years later (80s).

Metrawatt marketed fresher products, but their engagement with BBC company, this cause and a new change, regarding product design.
METRAVO 4S this comes with grey housing / case.
While BBC Goerz Metrawatt product line this is influenced regarding aesthetics, due a products designer, him doing work for the Italian Ferrari.
The outcome as changes at products aesthetics, this is a black housing / case, and also a freshly designed plate around the range switch.

Copy / paste and translated in English the marketing text of 1967.

Thanks to the intuitive four-pole circuit, the METRAVO, with its two input and two output terminals (four-pole), is simply plugged into the cable run between the voltage source and the load.
By turning the measuring range selector, current and voltage (and thus power) can be measured immediately one after the other.
Two versions are available:
METRAVO 2 for electronics engineers
27 measuring ranges. Ri - 10,000 Ω-V

METRAVO 3 for electricians
22 measuring ranges. Ri - 1666 Ω-V

Further advantages include:
• Common, linearly divided A, V scale for all DC and AC ranges
• Easy connection for combined current-voltage measurement
• Polarity reversal for DC current
• Built-in current transformer
• Low power consumption
• Continuity test with optical display
• Scale illumination / mirror
• Protection against damage by fusible fuse
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Unfortunately, and according to my taste, this freshly designed plate around the range switch, this using a fine thin line, and the OFF position of the range switch, this is hard to notice or this is close to be invisible.
At my next followup, I will post relative images.

Attached, the original copy of the document for anyone interested (German language).

Due scattered information's, mostly from elder people memories..

The history started by the Viennese company GOERZ Electro this emerged from C.P. Goerz, founded before the war (1940).
UNIGOR multimeter this was work of GOERZ Electro.

Sometime in the late 1960s or early 1970s, GOERZ became part of BBC BROWN BOVERI.
BBC was subsequently acquired by ASEA, and parts of the company, such as BBC GOERZ, were later spun off as independent companies.
Today (2020), GOERZ is part of the NORMA group, which also has a long tradition of manufacturing high-quality measuring instruments.

Here I proudly present to all Germans fellowman,  hard evidence of all METRAVO 4S Revisions, and or, over time transformations.

First revision: Silver plate supported by two screws, all banana plugs Black.

Second revision: Black plate supported by two screws, all banana plugs Black.

Third and last revision: Silver plate supported by four screws, 25A input banana plug Grey Blue tint.

BBC GOERZ Metrawatt MA 4S (Year 1986), this is based on latest revision METRAVO 4S, with different aesthetics at metal plate, and a different in design range switch.
As you can see at the last image, the modernized Italian, by FERRARI product design, this made the OFF range switch position as invisible.
It is also unfortunate, the fact that the user manual , this was unable to include photographs about functions demonstration, and everything regarding connectivity, this appears in the format of electrical diagrams.

Here you have it all, myth busting and explanations in a final form.
