Since 2015 at programmable DC load products, sign of advanced engineering it is considered products also offering Constant Resistance (CR) mode.

Back then I had a conversation by a brand  (Programmable DC load) developer.
And they did share with me basic tips of how this mode can be implemented.

Therefore here is a copy/paste of their text and I hope others to find this also as useful if they research the market as buyers, we are not living in to a perfect world.

There are two solutions for CR mode:

1. CR realized by software: the software collect voltage or current data, then the MCU calculates the current or voltage data to be controlled, and then output the controlling current of CC or controlling voltage of CV.
The calculation repeats and repeats, so as to readjust to changing external input.

2. CR realized by hardware: there is no software for data collecting and calculating. In this hardware circuit, R=V/I.
The hardware circuit automatically responds to changing external inputs.
In this case, we avoid delay time on software calculating, therefore get faster transient response and higher CR accuracy.

CR mode is realized by software in ITECH & Maynuo DC loads, while CR is realized by hardware in our DC loads.
