Actually there is a enormously large offering of product models.
And most consumers they get lost of which one is the best for them.

Also EPSON this is using at least three series of ink products (bottles) in EU, all with specific numbers = ink series.

Today EPSON has three actual printer model in hardware.
Slow ones = Home & Student
Medium speed = Home & Office
Fast speed = Business

The second major difference, this is that SLOW models, are using a print head with low density of inkjets = lesser number of actual inkjets for black and color ink.
Therefore actual ink thickness this is different from the ink this designed for medium speed printers.

High speed EPSON EcoTank Printer / Scanner, these cost double the price of best medium speed EcoTank Printer.
Their ink bottles has a numbering of their own too.

In conclusion ...
EPSON EcoTank printer = three different printing engines available.
Its one printing engine this requires it own class of ink.
The EPSON Ink series which Epson recommended for your printer, its the appropriate to use.
All new EcoTank printer arrive with a quantity of ink bottles.
Epson happily delivers warranty basic and or extended, for as long you are using the recommended ink.

Critical note:
Epson will kill your warranty, if you do use inappropriate ink series at their hardware.
Never forget that even when you do own the printer, the hardware its always technology of Epson, and specific rules must be followed to the letter. 
Its your choice to become a rebel, but do not ring Epson about your problems.

These days Epson did and something wise.
Most to all fresh EPSON EcoTank printer, these using identical Maintenance Box, model number T04D1 = C13T04D100

Basically this is a box that collecting ink this be wasted due any print-head cleaning cycles.

At a price tag of approximately 10 Euro I can find this part locally in Greece.

Generally speaking, latest EPSON EcoTank series, this is very friendly regarding printing costs.
EPSON Hardware this is not that wisely priced.
Medium speed printer scanner with USB / Ethernet/ WiFi  this is at the price range of 360 ~ 399 Euros.

Business models starts from 620 Euros.

Home student models at approximately 200 Euros.

In conclusion, from slow speed to medium this is double the price, and fast business speed also double the price from the medium speed class.
But business models has a difference that slow&medium in speed printers does not have, and this is much advanced flatbed scanner in hardware.
Speedy print + speedy scan.

I am 85% convinced in favor of specific model, but it belongs at high price range.
Past owned HP this was at 400 euro price tag, A4 only.
Now I am aiming for the larger A3, printing of electronic schematics this is of importance to me.

According to EPSON, the 101 ink series includes Pigment based Black Ink, along Dye-Based CMY
Economy EPSON printer series cannot use Pigment black, and all four colors are Dye-Based.

EPSON PrecisionCore print head this is designed for Pigment black.
