Today I came across a Binding Post Terminal product that I have never see before, it looks like that
Grayhill Inc. in the USA, did a poor selection of WEB Designer and their products portfolio this is hidden in to PDF files.
While by the first look their Binding Post Terminals and Test clips based to banana male product design, they seem as desirable.
The second thought that comes to me, this is that such product they was designed for a different era of multimeter.
The ones build like a tank with entire body of Bakelite or similar material. While this product design seems as always desirable, the truth is that this is outdated for use with modern multimeter which their banana inputs they are designed to accept shrouded male banana plugs.
The shrouded male banana plug, this is not just a safety feature (new addition), the female plug over the multimeter especially at handheld ones this design does not have any more the strength to tolerate mechanical forces and misuse.
It is a non spoken fact that shrouded banana connectors now lacking mechanical strength in favor of a safer product design which will lower the risk when working with
high voltages that is anything above the 60V mark.
I have nothing against
Grayhill Inc.,
but if they wish to regain market share they should RENEW their products line.
