I did buy several years ago my Galaxy S5 as used.
The phone came with out USB to mini USB cable, and I did buy the original in good faith that I am getting the best,
I did not use the phone much a video recorder, but I did use the camera for taking pictures a few times.
Back then my old PC did not have USB 3.0 ports, and I could not have a way to test High Speed USB 3.0 performance.
The original Samsung cable (white color), while it came with mini USB, I never checked in detail the USB A plug so to get awareness that
Samsung cheated at the offering of their significantly expensive phone.
Original cable this was only USB 2.0 (even if the appearance alone this would make you believe that is USB 3.0)
Today ordered the
appropriate USB 3.0 cable, and even this decision it was not easy, because they are available
cables only for data, and also
cables that support charging. And at the family of cables that support charging:
We have normal charge up to 1A
Fast charge up to 3A
And so if
you are not careful and educated about cables, even if you buy branded goods from local market, there is chances to not get the correct one.
(Technology now moved or adapted
USB-C , the ones also adapting it, they need a different homework to do, according to charging protocols supported due their phone.)
Luckily I own and one USB 3.0 Hub, mini USB 3.0, and so I have more uses for my new well selected cable, this supporting 900mA DC.
And about
Samsung and it marketing and cheats = No comment ...
